Global Approaches on Food Safety and Labelling Systems” Conference jointly organized by TGDF and CIAA was held on 18 November 2008  in Ankara, Turkey. Representatives of EU and Turkish Food and Drink Sector and academicians attended the conference.

Turkish  Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs that conducts the official negotiations with AB about the food legislation also attended the conference with all its related bodies. The presentations of CIAA, Ministry authorities and academicians about the developments on food safety and labeling across EU, Turkey and the world gained significant audience interest. Semsi Kopuz, president of TGDF made the opening speech of the conference and he expressed the problems of the Turkish Food and Drink Industry and offered solutions.
