As the voice of Europe’s food and drink industry, CIAA is committed to addressing growing concerns about weight-related diseases and obesity levels through a variety of fast and effective measures.

 • Today, almost 60% of European savoury snack manufacturers have salt-reduced products in their portfolio. This corresponds to more than 40% since the end of 2005.
 • Currently there are 1.6 billion adults are overweight worldwide. The World Health Organization predicts that in 2015 the number of overweight adults could increase to 2.3 billion.
